Your free Commerce Township Community Library card opens a world of resources to you, from books and magazines to digital downloads and streaming content.

Eligibility requirements for obtaining a CTCL library card:

Residents of Commerce Township and Wolverine Lake are eligible to receive a library card at the Commerce Township Library (many people have a mailing address of Wixom or Walled Lake but actually reside within Commerce Township. Please contact the library if you are not sure of your official residency). “Residency” is defined as one’s primary residence, that is, where one lives most of the time. Owners of commercial property or of a secondary residence within Commerce Township are eligible for a CTCL library card, except when one’s primary residence lies within the service area of any of The Library Network’s (TLN’s) member libraries. In these cases, patrons should obtain a library card from the TLN-affiliated library that serves the community where they live. This card may then be used at CTCL. (For a list of TLN member libraries, click here) Minors 17 and younger must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian to obtain a library card.

There is a $15 maximum fine per library card. Once this limit is reached you will be unable to check out items until the fines are paid down. In most cases, overdue items can be renewed over the phone or by the Internet. Doing so will stop fines from accruing. Lost or Damaged Materials Patrons will be billed for the replacement cost of lost or damaged materials plus a $2.00 processing fee for each item. Refunds are available for items returned to the library within 30 days of payment. The library does not accept replacement copies of lost materials in place of monetary payments.

Please note that some of these libraries have standalone circulation systems and will require you to register your card. You WILL need to provide both your library card and proof of Commerce Township residency to that library.
