Since 2007, members of the Friends of the Commerce Township Community Library have come together in support our community’s Library. To join, click here to download the membership application and either mail it or bring it to the Library. Applications are also available at the Library.
In addition to supporting the Library, members are invited to Friends’ Night. You will have first choice of the many items available at our semi-annual used book sales before they are open to the public. Members also work before, during and after the used book sales and we can always use more volunteers. It’s a great way to support the Library and meet other members.

The Friends of the Commerce Township Community Library's next book sale will be held in fall, 2024.
Book/Media Donation
The Friends of the Commerce Township Community Library are currently accepting donations. Books and media can be placed in the Friends of the Library donation slot in the lobby of the library. Library staff are unable to assist with unloading bags and boxes of donations.
Book/Media Donation Guidelines
Thank you for considering a donation of used books or media to the Friends of the Commerce Township Community Library! Your donations allow the Friends to continue supporting Library programs for readers of all ages.
We do not accept:
Damaged, dirty or old books
Books that are soiled, brown, with mildew, mold, smoke or water damage
Books with highlighting, underlining, writing or post-it flags
Travel books more than 10 years old
Textbooks
Condensed books
Bibles
Dictionaries, encyclopedias or thesauruses
Cassette or VHS tapes
Electronics of any kind
Library discards
Magazines covering current events (Time, People, Business Week, etc.)
We do accept:
Fiction (hardcover and paperback) in good condition with front and back covers intact
Non-fiction (hardcover and paperback) in good condition with front and back covers intact
Children's books and magazines in good condition
DVDs, books on CD and music CDs - in their original cases
Video games
Board games and puzzles in good condition, containing all parts and pieces
Magazines for crafts, hobbies, cooking, science or history
Kroger Community Rewards Program
The Friends have enrolled in the Kroger Community Rewards Program. If you shop at Kroger and enroll your Kroger Plus card, a portion of your purchases will be distributed to the Friends each quarter. We receive about $400 each year from this program. It’s a great way to support your Library every time you shop at Kroger.
Anyone can participate in this program by registering online. You do not have to be a Friends member to enroll. Start by going to krogercommunityrewards.com.
If you already have an account, you can sign in, go to Community Rewards, and select the Friends by using our account number, SY750. When you enter the number, you will see our name appear – Friends of the Commerce Township Community Library – so you can verify that you are enrolled correctly.
If you have a Kroger Plus Card but do not have an account, you will first have to create an account. Be sure to have your Kroger Plus card handy. Once your account is created, you can add the Friends under Community Rewards.
If you do not have a Kroger Plus card, they are available at the customer service desk at any Kroger.
Once your card is registered under the program, just swipe the card or use the phone number related to your registered Kroger Plus card when shopping for each purchase to count.
