Senior Day Trips
January – February 2009
We have many fun day trips planned for the months of December, January & February. We plan on having a great Winter by keeping our seniors active, healthy and happy! Here is a list of our day trips we have planned for the next three months. If you would like to attend one or more of our trips, please sign up at least one month in advance by coming into the Richardson Center or by calling (248) 926-0063.
- Wednesday, January 14th, 2009 – It’s a Matter of Taste. $3.00 Transportation donation. This trip departs at 10:00am from the Richardson Center; all additional costs are on your own. Their atmosphere is warm and inviting. They offer a comfortable and casual dining experience, with attentive and friendly service. Whether your visit is for a luncheon meeting, an after work drink at the bar, or a place to begin the night…It’s a Matter of Taste is ideal for many occasions. Their food is classic & simple cuisine, Italian influenced, hearty and flavorful! Please sign up in the office.
- Sunday, January 18th, 2009 – Grosse Point Theatre Presents: “The Boy Friend”. The cost for this trip is $109.00. The jazz age lives on in this light, romantic spoof of 1920’s musical comedy, “The Boy Friend”. The setting is the French Rivera at Mme. Dubonnet’s Finishing School. Polly an English Heiress falls in love with Tony, a delivery boy. Recalling her father’s warning regarding fortune seekers, she posses as a working girl, unaware that Tony is in fact the missing son of a wealthy lord. This sparkling, tongue-in-cheek 1920’s musical romp will have you smiling all the way home. Cancellations are subject to a $10.00 processing fee.
- Thursday, January 22nd, 2009 – Wonderland Lanes. $3.00 transportation donation, all additional costs are on your own. This trip departs at 11:30am from the Richardson Center. Who doesn’t love to go bowling?! Gather all your friends and tell them you’re spending the afternoon knocking some pins down at Wonderland Lanes with the Richardson Center!! Not only will you enjoy a fun filled afternoon of bowling, they also have an extended menu in the Wonderland Grille. Please sign up in the office.
- Friday, January 23rd, 2009 – Bavarian Inn Restaurant Presents: Snowfest Extravaganza. Bavarian Inn’s full-time accordionist, Linda Lee, will have your toes a tappin’ when she plays many of your Frankenmuth favorites as well as performing a well rounded program of tunes from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. You will also enjoy a special one hour step on guide tour of Frankenmuth from the comfort of your motorcoach, for the chance to see the only once a year breathtaking snow and ice carvings done by international and state level competitors featured up and down the main street. You will also enjoy their world famous family style chicken dinner. Please sign up in the office.
- Wednesday, February 11th, 2009 – Borders Bookstore. $3.00 transportation donation, all additional costs are on your own. Since opening in 1988, Borders Bookstore has been pleased to serve the entire metropolitan Detroit community and proud that Borders is a Michigan company. You will have time to browse their beautiful store and find those hard to find titles with the help of their friendly staff. Please sign up in the office.
- Wednesday, February 11th, 2009 – Soaring Eagle Casino. The cost for this trip is $ 36.00. You will depart from the Richardson Center at 9:15am and return at about 8:45pm. This trip includes roundtrip transportation, free time to gamble at Soaring Eagle and a chance to enjoy the music and antics of some of your favorite musicians. See impersonators perform the best of Joe Cocker, Tom Jones and Tina Turner! The complete casino package includes a $20.00 coin coupon and a $5.00 food voucher. Please sign up in the office.
- Thursday, February 19th, 2009. – Morley’s Candy Factory. $3.00 transportation donation, all additional costs are on your own. This trip departs at 10:30am. Morley Candy Makers is the largest producer of chocolates in Michigan and is among the largest in the United States as well. You will take a guided tour through the factory where all the chocolate goodies are made and you will also receive free candy!!! Please sign up in the office.
