If you are in need of a deputy to respond to an accident and/or incident you need to call dispatch at 248-858-4950.
How do I obtain accident report?
To receive a copy of an accident report written from Commerce Substation Deputy, you will need to come in during business hours with a valid driver’s license or state I.D. The fee is $3.00. In order to obtain a copy of an accident report from the Records Bureau of Oakland County Sheriff’s Office you should verify that the report is available 4-5 working days from the time of the accident was reported. Please call 248-858-5058, to make sure that the report is available to be released. A fee will be charged for each copy.
How do I obtain copies of Incident Reports?
In order to obtain a copy of incident report you need to contact Records Bureau of Oakland County Sheriff Office at: 1201 North Telegraph Road in Pontiac,phone number 248-858-5011. Reports should be available 4-5 working days from the time the incident was reported. Please call first to make sure that the report is available and able to be released. A fee will be charged for each copy.
I need to be fingerprinted for a job. Can I do that at the Commerce Substation?
If you are a resident of Commerce Township the Substation will fingerprint you with valid photo identification.
How do I pay for traffic tickets and/or schedule for Court Appearance?
All traffic tickets are paid at 52-1 District Court, 48150 Grand River Avenue in Novi. You may call Traffic Division at 248-305-6511 to retain dollar amount and/or schedule for a court hearing.
Where do I go to obtain a Permit to Purchase a Firearm?
If you reside in one of the communities patrolled by the Sheriff's Office or the Michigan State Police, you need to go to the Record Bureau at the Oakland County Sheriff's Office in Pontiac to obtain a Permit to Purchase. If you reside in a community patrolled by its own police agency, you will need to go there to obtain a Permit to Purchase. Please bring valid photo identification with your current address on it when coming in to obtain a permit. After obtaining the permit, you will have 10 calendar days to purchase the firearm and 10 calendar days to return to the Sheriff's Office to have the firearms registered.
