The NO HAZ program in Oakland County will accept household hazardous waste (HHW) from residents in NO HAZ member communities. HHW products are often toxic, corrosive and flammable - so proper disposal will ensure safety to your family and community. Unfortunately, there are some items that are not accepted at the NO HAZ collection events. Here are some disposal alternatives to help get these materials out of your home and keep your family safe.

Disposal Alternatives

  • Latex Paint
    Solidify (dry out , fill with kitty litter or sand) and put in trash
  • Smoke, Radon & Carbon Monoxide Detectors
    Follow instructions on back of device to return to the supplier
  • Motor Oil
    Contact your local discount auto supplier / oil change shop
