Welcome to the Assessing Department

Homestead Affidavits and Property Transfer Affidavits are filed at the Assessor’s Office. Once received and stamped by staff, a copy is made for the resident’s files.

Township mapping is available through the Assessor’s Office.

All legal description Splits and Combinations are initiated through the Assessing Department.

Information regarding parcel identification, address, building characteristics, land dimensions, and similar information is available at the Assessing Department.

Mission Statement

It is the purpose and the mission of this office:

  • to provide information to the public that is accurate and reliable, and to provide that information mindful that service to the public is the reason for our existence;
  • to provide information to other departments of Township government in an efficient manner allowing them, the users of our information, to better perform their various duties;
  • to provide all these services in a manner that is courteous and businesslike, and in a fashion which complies with the constitution and laws of the State of Michigan and The Charter Township of Commerce
