How are Senior Community Centers
funded? |
The Senior community center is funded through a variety of sources. Most receive funding through the Area Agency on Aging in their area. Many receive funds from local organizations, private grants and municipalities. All centers participate in some form of fund raising by the participants at the center. Raising funds by the senior community center is part of the Department of Aging's policy on resource diversification, which requires the senior community centers to actively participate in raising some portion of funds for the center. |
