Presentation of “Community Awards”

take place each year at the annual

MICHIGAN WEEK

COMMERCE TOWNSHIP

COMMUNITY BREAKFAST.

Awards are given in the following categories:

Outstanding Citizen

• Must be a resident of Commerce Township, including Wolverine Lake Village
• Active supporter of community activities over and above those that may be a normal part of their job duties.
• Currently serving elected officials are not eligible

Business Person of the Year

• Must own or operate a business in Commerce Township, including Wolverine Lake Village.
• Should have no current violations on record with the Township and/or Sheriff’s Department
• Must be an active supporter of community activities over and above those that may be a normal part of their job duties.

Outstanding Contribution Award

• Need not be a resident of Commerce Township
• Must be an active supporter of community activities over and above those that may be a normal part of their job duties.

Historical Preservation Award

• Property must be located in Commerce Township
• Should meet U.S. Secretary of Interior Historical Preservation Standards.
• Should meet National Trust for Historical Preservation Guidelines.

Parks & Recreation Outstanding Service Award

• Award to be determined by the Commerce Township Parks & Recreation Committee.

Business Beautification Award

• Award to be determined by the Commerce Township Planning Commission for both New and Remodeled Businesses
