Fertilizer Ordinance
Did you know that it is now unlawful to use fertilizers containing phosphorus on your lawn in Commerce Township? In addition to a no phosphorus policy, the township’s fertilizer ordinance regulates nitrogen amounts and the time and frequency of applications. Applicators must also maintain a 15 foot buffer zone from surface water and are required to remove excess fertilizer that lands on impervious surfaces such as drives and sidewalks.
